News of Sherwood Families

 On 30th May 2006, Geoff Sherwood & his family called in to see Phil & Tammy in Weymouth where this photo was taken outside Phil's house. It shows Left-to-Right: Phil's grandson, Thomas Sherwood born 15 Sep 2001, Demetra (14) Geoff's daughter, Geoff, David (12) Geoff's son, and Michele, Geoff's wife. For Geoff & his family it was their first trip to England, and we showed them around the Isle of Portland and Chesil Beach which they had always wanted to see. Fortunately we were blessed with fine weather and excellent views along the Jurassic Coast.

Geoff has recently had a major breakthrough in discovering where his ancestor Thomas Sherwood 'the immigrant' came from in England before sailing to New England from Ipswich in 1634. Thomas was born ca1586 and some of his children were baptised in the tiny parish of Kettlebaston which is a few miles West of the port of Ipswich in Suffolk. Geoff was planning to visit Kettlebaston on this trip.
